The next few
weeks will probably be slow ones. My
eyesight has worsened considerably over the past week or so. Luckily, I’ll be getting that fixed in the
next two weeks, but that means that for a short time, I’ll basically be doing
my best to not break anything and having to rest my eyes a lot due to eye
strain.
I will do my
best to keep writing these, but if I’m a little slow, or there are some errors,
…well, now you know why.
So last
week, I was on my way to Seattle by now.
We did SO many things while we were there, and there’s still even more
to see if ever we should go back. My
birthday was one of the best I’ve had in recent years (barring being in Europe
for my 40th,) and once I get some eyesight back, I’ll do my best to
get some pictures up.
Right now, I’m
getting ready for my Dad’s 70th birthday which is coming up on April
19th. I’m also looking
forward to seeing my Mom and helping with the Easter stuff she’s planning—not to
mention helping get the cabin ready for its final countdown.
Last night
we had UT and Cynthia over for pizza night, and we celebrated my birthday—without
breaking any champagne glasses. That’s
not to say that it wasn’t suggested when a box of new ones appeared—by me, of
course! Opa!
With the way
my vision’s been of late, I’ve had to be really careful about
-everything-. In a way that’s both bad
and good. Bad in that it’s frustrating
because everything takes so much longer; good in that it forces me to be really
careful with both myself and everything around me. But I am learning why it is that I tend to be
so organized now; looking for things when you can’t see well is a
search-by-hand experience, and if something isn’t in its “usual” place, I may
never find it again.
Too, there
is the eye strain, which means that I can’t really do the same things I used to
do—like playing computer games, for instance.
Or reading for hours at a time.
Then again, that forces me to find other things to do—like exercising,
cleaning, …and organizing things as I go.
That said, I
hope you’re all having a lovely Thursday, and I’ll be writing again on Monday
and Tuesday for Moms and Dads. I learned
quite a bit while I was in Seattle—not only about myself, but about the people
that I love, too.
So until
next time…..
You are so awesome! What a amazing person you are.
